MILFORD - Evelyn S. Orn, 88, of Milford, died Nov. 28, 2010, in Lakeland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
She was born June 12, 1922, in Goshen, to Powell and Ruth Gunther Widner. On March 30, 1941, she married Darrell Orn, who died Aug. 8, 2003.
She was a lifetime area resident and enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. She began working during World War II as a telegrapher with Western Union. She was a bookkeeper for Sharp Hardware, a former secretary and treasurer for Milford Junior High School and a medical transcriptionist for Kosciusko and Goshen hospitals and Home Health Care and Hospice. She was a member of Milford Christian Church, Columbia Reading Circle, Senior Group and American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Alanna (and spouse Paul) Wustrack, Lewiston, N.Y., and Linda Dempster, Bristol; a son, James (and spouse Elaine) Orn, Aurora, Ill.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Powell Widner, Goshen; and a sister, Dorothy Brumbaugh, Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Milford Christian Church with Pastor Stephen Leininger officiating. Burial will be private.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
