Evelyn “Marie” Applegate, 74, Warsaw, passed away at 11:02 p.m. April 1, 2014, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born April 28, 1939, in Claypool, to Orville and Mary Jane Stickler Drudge. On June 16, 1963, she married Lloyd Richard Applegate, who survives in Warsaw. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where she enjoyed volunteering at the Wagon Wheel Theatre and also at KCH. She enjoyed ceramics, cooking, gardening and her pets. Also surviving are a son, Richard (and spouse Veronica) Applegate, Warsaw; a daughter, Ilah Applegate, Warsaw; two grandchildren, Josh Applegate, Fort Wayne, and Zach (and spouse Emily) Applegate, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren: Eva, Dylan, Dawson, Mallory and Jonah; a brother, Rex (and spouse Alma Gay) Drudge, Mentone; a sister, Martha Klinger, Warsaw; and her sister-in-law, Vera Drudge, Pierceton. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Applegate, who died in 2013; and a brother, Norman Drudge, who died in 2013. There will be no visitation or services at this time. A burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw at a later date.
