MILFORD - Evelyn M. Fisher, 98, of Nappanee, died March 19, 2011, in The Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
She was born March 13, 1913, in Syracuse, to Donovan and Marie Bailey Strock. On Nov. 14, 1931, she married Warren Fisher, who died Oct. 9, 2004.
She loved her family and cherished the times they spent together. She enjoyed gardening; she transplanted flowers that were in her family for three generations. She also enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, baking and cake decorating, making the wedding cakes for her grandchildren. Each member of the family has one of her Christmas stockings. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, and Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years, where she was a past matron.
Surviving are a son, Warren "Bud" Jr. (and spouse Emily) Fisher, Nappanee; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Strock, Tennessee, and Ross (and spouse Jean) Strock, Ohio; and a sister, Mary Louise (and spouse Robert) Ginder, Butler. She was preceded in death by a her parents; a daughter, Marcia; and four brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, with the Rev. Jesse Beer officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to say thank you to all the staff and residents of Heritage House for their love, care and support of Evelyn over the past few years.
