Evelyn June Ferree Lowman, 91, of Warsaw, passed away very peacefully at 4 p.m. Feb. 19, 2013, in her residence.
She was born Sept. 2 1921, in Fulton County, to Alfred and Goldie Smoker Ferree. On Sept. 2, 1941,  in Wanatchee, Wash., she married Glenn N. Lowman, who died November 1972.
She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1939. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she and her husband ran Lowman’s Corner service station north of Akron for 31 years together.
She loved the Indy 500 races and only missed two until 2012 since they restarted after World War II. Her first trip was when she was 16 with her parents, she rode in the rumble seat of a Hudson automobile. She also enjoyed traveling around the country with an Airstream Travel Trailer, belonging to the Wally Byam Caravan Club for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane K. (and spouse Paul) Schipper, Kokomo; a son, Tim E. (and spouse C. Marie) Lowman, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Aaron Schipper, Peru; Evan (and spouse Dina) Schipper, Avon; and David Lowman and Wendy Lowman, both of Warsaw; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jayden Lowman.
Entombment services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
Calling will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident, Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
