Evelyn Jane Tinkey, 81, of Warsaw, passed away at 7:59 a.m. Nov. 15, 2012, in Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born May 16, 1931, in Atwood, to Russell F. and Gaynell Horn Creighton. In 1948, she married Richard Barker, who passed away in 1967. On Sept. 5, 1969, she  married William “Bill” Junior Tinkey, who survives in Warsaw.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she was a homemaker and a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, where she was the pianist and organist for many years. She was also active in the United Methodist Women, the Kosciusko County Fair and a number of other community organizations.
She will be lovingly remembered by four sons: DeWayne (and spouse Melody) Barker, Warsaw; Terry (and spouse Carolyn) Barker, Fishers; Lee (and spouse Pamela) Barker, Elkhart; and Karl (and spouse Cindy) Barker, Leesburg; two daughters, Debra (and spouse James) Caton, Osceola, and Diana (and spouse Mark) Osborn; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Gale (and spouse Lois) Creighton,  Oviedo, Fla.; Bob Creighton, Nashville, Ind.; Dave (and spouse Mary Ann) Creighton, Warsaw; and a sister, Marilyn Fahl, Columbia City. She also was preceded in death by a son, Neil Barker, and a sister, Dorothy E. Snyder Darsey, who died in 2012.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jerry Thomas. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
