MILFORD — Evar D. Troup, 82, Milford, passed away at 10:27 a.m. Dec. 31, 2016, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born May 23, 1934, in Nappanee, and four years later moved to Milford. He was the son of Alton and Dessie Troup. On Oct. 24, 1953, he married Mary Ellen Bray; she survives. Evar and Mary Ellen lived most of their lives in Milford. He was a member of Milford Christian Church and American Legion Post 0226. He also honorably served in the U.S. Navy Reserve in the ’60s. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ellen Troup; a daughter, Kathy (spouse Tony) McDowell, Milford; three sons: David (spouse Deb) Troup, Ligonier; Steven (spouse Mary) Troup, Milford; and Tom Troup, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shelly Troup, Long Beach, Calif. He was preceded by his parents and three brothers. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Milford Christian Church with Pastor Stephen Leininger officiating. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.
