BOURBON – Eva Marie Lawmaster, 86, of Bourbon, passed away at 6:05 p.m.  Dec. 20, 2011, in her residence in the care of her family and Hospice.

She was born May 16, 1925, in Argos, to Alva and Hazel Kindig Thompson. On Nov. 13, 1943, she married Clifford K. “Barney” Lawmaster, who died Nov. 24, 2002.

She was a resident of the Bourbon and Warsaw areas most of her life and spent winters in Naples, Fla. She was a graduate of Argos High School. She was a homemaker and worked along with her husband as owners of Lawmaster Roofing, Bourbon, where she did the bookkeeping. She also was a member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church; Eagles Lodge, Columbia City; American Legion, Bonita Springs, Fla.; and Moose Lodge 1423, Warsaw. In her spare time she enjoyed playing in the golf league at Rozella Ford Country Club and she even scored a hole in one at Tippecanoe Country Club. Other interests include sewing and crocheting.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (and spouse Glenn) Disher, Bourbon; a son, Larry (and spouse Osie)  Lawmaster, Pierceton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Erma Ellinger, Bourbon, and Bernice (and spouse Wayne) Reese, Pierceton; and a brother, Dale Thompson, Argos. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lovendahl; two sons, Bruce and Gary; a sister, Bertha Jane Thacker; and two brothers, Eldon and Charles Thompson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bourbon First United Methodist Church with Stormy Scherer-Berry officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
