KENTON, Ohio - Eva Doll Brubaker, 91, of Kenton, Ohio, died at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 11, 2010, in Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton, with her daughter and son-in-law at her side.
She was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Sidney, to Riley E. and Emaline Gall Hale. On Jan. 23, 1937, she married Gordon T. Brubaker, who died Feb. 7, 1995.
She won the 18-Hole Golf Championship several times. She expressed her love through her actions and her hands. She made many clothes for her family and herself. She was often found in her kitchen making noodles with her great-grandchildren. Her cooking skills won her a trip to the Pillsbury Bake-Off. If she wasn't playing golf, sewing or cooking, she loved to paint. She loved not only her family but youth in general. She was a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H advisor. She was active in her Ladies Aide and the Monroe Home Makers Club, where she held all of the offices and became both a county and state level officer. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, First United Methodist Church, Kenton; and the Culture Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (and spouse James) Pruden, Kenton; three grandchildren: Brad Lange, Merritt Island, Fla.; Shawn (and spouse Shawn) Moore, Kenton; and Tara (and spouse Robert) Burlas, Carmel; nine great-grandchildren: Kiley, Bobby and Olivia Burlas, all of Carmel; Kelcy, Alexa, Mikaela, Jenna and Devry Moore, Kenton; and Santana Lange, Merritt Island; two sisters, Joy Shannon, Scotsdale, Ariz., and Helen Warner, Texas; a brother-in-law, Louis Affolder, Bellevue, Mich.; and three sisters-in-law: Marilyn Culbertson, Carrollton, Texas; Bonita Collier, Pierceton; and Lauree Brubaker, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by six sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home, Kenton, with Pastor Peter Paige officiating. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
