Posted
Eula P. Rust, 84, of North Manchester, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10, 2011, in Peabody Retirement Center, North Manchester.

She was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Weston, W.Va., to William and Blanche P. Kern Tinney. On Dec. 28, 1968, in Brimfield, she married Wilbur L. “Rusty” Rust, who survives.

She graduated from Weston High School in 1944. In 1974, she began work as a custodian for First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, where she was a member.

She was a loving, humble, gracious, kind and generous woman. She did not know a stranger and she had a gentle spirit that embraced all who came into contact with her. Her friends were too numerous to count because, to just simply know her was to love her. She loved the Lord and her family will all of her heart and all her strength.

She would say that her children were her greatest accomplishment, she was so proud. She is dearly loved and deeply respected by her family and she will be missed more than words could ever describe. The family’s great loss is heaven’s magnificent gain. She leaves behind a legacy of love and hope that will endure for many many years to come as there will always be “a light at the end of the tunnel.”

Also surviving are two daughters, Karen (and spouse Don) Fuller, Syracuse, and Penny Rust Hales, Warsaw; a son, Robert (and spouse Judy) Reed, Beaver Dam, Ky.; a daughter–in-law, Peggy (and spouse Sandy) Lindsey, Bourbon; six grandchildren: Melissa (and spouse William) Bennett, Syracuse; Dan (and spouse Tammy) Reed-Lindsey, Columbia, Tenn.; Joe (and spouse Shaina) Reed–Lindsey, Longwood, Fla.;   Roberta M. (and spouse Michael), South Bend; Jon Etheridge, Marietta, Ga.; and Madison Hales, Warsaw; five great-grandchildren: Justin (and spouse Katie) Crosby and William (and spouse Ann) Bennett, all of Syracuse, and Dillon, Mason and Brianna Lindsey, all of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Reed; a son, David Reed; five sisters, Peggy Cross, Eva Taylor, Mary Huggins, Madeline Albaugh and Evelyn Fisher; and three brothers, Charles Tinney, Robert Tinney and Frankie Tinney.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, officiated by Chaplain Sue Babovec of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.  Burial will be at a later date.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel.
