AKRON - Eugenia C. Howard, 80, of 419 S. Cherry St., Akron, died at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 20, 2007, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Garrett, Ky., to Ivan and Nellie Hicks Chaffins. On March 21, 1945, in Garrett, she married Boone Howard, who died Aug. 9, 1977.
She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Wen Products, Akron.
Surviving are a son, Larry (and wife Helen) Howard, Warsaw; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six sisters: Alga Cooper, Monroe, Mich.; Ossie Coburn, Stroh; Marlene Meadows, Finley, Ohio; Billa Clemons, Lebanon, Ohio; Joyce Conley, South Milford; and Helen Tuttle, Garrett; and five brothers: Allen and Gary Chaffins, both of Garrett; Jim Chaffins, Ohio; Danny Chaffins, Auburn; and Herbert Chaffins, Kendallville. She was preceded in death by two sons, three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Henry Arnett Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
