Eugene L. Ringgenberg

ELLENTON, FLA. – Eugene L. Ringgenberg, 90, passed away June 8, 2015.
He was born Nov. 20, 1924, to Roy and Mary Hontz Ringgenberg. On April 14, 1944, he married Sarah Jane Freshour, who survives.
He graduated from Pierceton High School. He was also a dairy farmer south of Pierceton for 37 years before moving to Palmetto, Fla. permanently. He was named outstanding young farmer of Kosciusko County and second runner up in the state in 1057. He was recognized for 22 years of dedicated service to Kosciusko County REMC and board vice president for six years. He loved his family, farming, fishing and shuffle boarding. While in Florida, he became a “pro shuffler.”
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen (and spouse Terry) Strueh, Lafayette; four grandchildren: Kurt (and spouse Lynn) Strueh, and Sarah (and spouse Scott) Akin, all of Zionsville; Pamela (and spouse Mark) Ridenour, Goshen; and Stephanie (and spouse Mark) Brunner, Georgia; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kerry Eugene Ringgenberg, a brother and two sisters.
A private service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday.
