NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the Water Utility of the Town of Etna Green are hereby notified that Ordinance No. 2010-5, establishing rates and charges for services to be rendered by the Water Utility, was introduced at a meeting of the Town Council on September 14, 2010. At a meeting of the Town Council to be held at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th day of October, 2010, in the Heritage Park Building, 338 South Walnut Street, Etna Green, Indiana, there will be a public hearing on the matter of rates and charges, and consideration of adoption of said Ordinance No. 2010-5 which provides in part as follows: Section 1. That there shall be and there are hereby established for the use of and the service rendered by the waterparks system of the Town of Etna Green the following rates and charges, based on the use of water supplied by said waterworks system: A. Phase I - Effective January 1, 2011 Metered Rates Per 1,000 Per Month Gallons First 2,000 $8.32 Next 8,000 6.10 Next 40,000 4.16 over 50,000 2.48 Minimum Charge Per Month Each user shall pay a minimum charge in accordance with the following applicable size of meter installed, for which the user will be entitled to the quantity of water set out in the above schedule of rates. SIZE OF METER MINIMUM MONTHLY RATE 5/8" - 3/4" meter $16.65 1" meter 33.30 1 1/2" meter 55.35 2" meter 88.60 3" meter 138.35 4" meter 249.00 6" meter 387.30 (3) Fire Hydrants Municipal hydrants - per hydrant - per annum $720.00 Private hydrants - per hydrant - per annum 720.00 (4) Private Fire Protection Extinguishing fires only - per annum $970.00 (5) Tap Charge A tap charge shall be collected from each customer, prior to connection to the water system, in an amount sufficient to reimburse the Town for the labor and material necessary for tapping the main and installation of service from the main to the curb stop and the cost of furnishing and installing a suitable water meter. The charge for a 5/8" - 3/4" installation shall be in the amount of $269.00. The charge for a 1" or larger service shall be the labor and material costs incurred. (7) Effective Date These rates shall be effective January 1, 2011. B. Phase II - Effective January 1, 2012 Metered Rates Per 1,000 Per Month Gallons First 2,000 $8.82 Next 8,000 6.47 Next 40,000 4.41 over 50,000 2.63 Minimum Charge Per Month Each user shall pay a minimum charge in accordance with the following applicable size of meter installed, for which the user will be entitled to the quantity of water set out in the above schedule of rates.
