Etna Green Man Charged After Residential EntryAn Etna Green man is facing a residential entry charge after allegedly entering a couple’s home while on drugs.

William Garrett Schultz, 27, of 9205 W. CR 125N, Etna Green, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 7:27 a.m. April 9 for residential entry and felony probation violation. His preliminary bond on the residential entry charge, a level 6 felony, was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash. He was released on his own recognizance to appear for an initial hearing at 1 p.m. May 9 in Kosciusko County Superior Court III.

On April 9, Winona Lake Police Department officer Riley Arvanitis responded to a call in regards to an unwanted person in the home. When he arrived, Arvanitis spoke with the homeowner, who said he and his wife heard someone walking in their kitchen. He entered the kitchen and saw someone – later identified as Schultz – standing there.

The homeowner retrieved a gun and ordered Schultz to sit in a chair until the police arrived, according to court documents filed Monday.

Schultz said the reason for his strange behavior throughout the incident was he had been smoking marijuana and methamphetamine.
