Etna Green Gets Request From Football League

Posted
ETNA GREEN - Nathan Ludwig and Dan McPherson reported to the Etna Green Town Council on the progress the Marshall County Junior Football League has made.

The council approved motions to remove an existing wall in the concession stand at the football field at the park to help expand it and to begin rewiring of the building.Ludwig and McPherson also requested to add another story to the current building for a scorers table. A motion was approved to have a storage shed brought in near the concession stand for storage of football equipment. Council President Todd Slabaugh requested that McPherson or Ludwig find out whether a building permit would be necessary.

The council accepted a motion made by Eileen Hall to compensate the football league for up to $500 for materials purchased. Hall said she felt the league should be compensated for the money being spent to improve the park.

Slabaugh said several citizens requested to have a communitywide garage sale. After further discussion, the council decided to pick a date next year for the garage sale rather than having one before "Old Fashioned Days." The date will be the weekend of June 12-13, 2009.

Finally, the council discussed concerns about an abandoned house with a water meter that is showing water usage. The council will investigate a way to gain legal entry into the house to shut off any running water.
