Ethel D. Shepherd, 91, of Warsaw, died at 7:25 a.m. Feb. 12, 2010, in Parkview-Noble Hospital, Kendallville.
She was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Floyd County, Ky., to Smith and Audie Poe Johnson. In 1935, in Kentucky, she married Odis Shepherd, who died Sept. 22, 1995.
She lived in Claypool from 1952-93, when she moved to Warsaw. She was a homemaker and a member of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Warsaw.
Surviving are three sons, Arnold (and spouse Cindy) Shepherd, John (and spouse Sandy) Shepherd and Donald (and spouse Patty) Shepherd, all of Ligonier; a sister, Grethel Gibson, Warsaw; a brother, Butler Johnson, Warsaw; two daughters-in-law, Jayne Shepherd, Silver Lake, and Elaine Shepherd, Fairburn, S.D.; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond and Riley Shepherd; three sisters; two brothers; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Warsaw, with Pastors Glen Hughes, Rick Johnson and David Cripe officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, was in charge of arrangements.
