BREMEN - Esther Marie Thacker Roth, 84, of Warsaw, formerly of Bourbon and Nappanee, died Dec. 20, 2008, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
She was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Kosciusko County, to Oliver and Edith Haney Huff. She married Howard Roth, who survives.
She owned Esther's Ceramics, Bourbon, and did office work in the Bourbon area. She was a former member of the Bourbon American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Plymouth Moose Lodge and Rebekah Lodge of Bourbon. She wintered in Naples, Fla.
Also surviving are two daughters, Gloria (and spouse Jack) Miller, Pierceton, and Julie (and spouse Jay) Kling, Bremen; three stepchildren in New York; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Chandler, Elkhart, and Martha (and spouse Lee Roy) Love, Nappanee; and three brothers: Russell (and spouse Mildred), DeVoe (and spouse Phyllis) and Stanley Huff, all of Nappanee. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two infant sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m Monday at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, with Pastor Gary Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
