SYRACUSE - Ernest Ross "Pete" Bissell Jr., 68, of Warsaw, died at 7:49 p.m. May 30, 2010, in Van Wert (Ohio) County Hospital.
He was born Nov. 14, 1941, in Fort Wayne, to Ernest Ross and Virginia Jane Pete Bissell. On Sept. 15, 1988, in Louisville, Ky., he married Debra L. Mitchner Jernigan, who survives.
He graduated from Northside High School, Fort Wayne, in 1959, and Purdue University, West Lafayette, in 1963. He worked as a floating pharmacist at CVS pharmacies in Northern Indiana and was the former manager and pharmacist at North Webster CVS for seven years. He formerly worked at Hooks, Revco and Walgreens in Northern Indiana. He lived most of his life in the Northern Indiana area before moving to Warsaw about 10 years ago.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw, and formerly attended Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse and Logansport. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Marion and the Optimist Club in Warsaw.
Also surviving are four daughters: Theresa Bissell, Fort Wayne; Tamara (and spouse Mike) Motycka, Convoy, Ohio; and Tonya (and spouse Mark) Bowser and Jaime Ervin, all of North Webster; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Sally Michaels, Sylvania, Ohio; and a brother, Brent (and spouse Libby) Bissell, Minneapolis, Minn.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastors Kent Butcher and Bruce Vernon officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse.
