Erna D. VanGundy, 71, of Winona Lake, went to be with her Lord at 3:10 p.m. Dec. 3, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born April 29, 1940, in Warsaw, to Wayne Nelson and Coleste “Faye” Johnston VanGundy.
A lifetime Winona Lake resident, she was an in-home child day care provider and worked at Ramada Inn. She was a faithful member of Warsaw Church of God. She was a great friend to everyone and loved by all. Over the past few years she was given excellent care by the employees of Cardinal Services and Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Surviving are a cousin, Gaylord (and spouse Sue) Johnston, Warsaw; many additional cousins and great friends; and her faithful dog, Bridget. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne VanGundy, who died in 1960; and her mother, Faye VanGundy, who died in 1995.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jerry Yoder of Warsaw Church of God. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
