Erik Jeffery Mount

STURGIS, Mich. – Erik Jeffery Mount, 36, of Sturgis. Mich., left this life to be with his loving Lord Feb. 16, 2013, from Bronson Methodist Hospital Cardiac Critical Care Unit, Kalamazoo, Mich. He was born Dec. 21, 1976, in Sturgis, to Lamar and Beverly Johnson Mount, who survive. In White Pigeon, he married Jamie L. Toulson, who survives. He resided in Casa Grande, Ariz., and Sturgis most of his life. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 1995, where he excelled as an outstanding member of the varsity football team playing both offensively and defensively. He was a talented welder by trade and enjoyed football, a sport he began participating in at age 8. He loved reading his Bible and cherished time spent with his family. Also surviving are two daughters, Sydney and Callie Mount, both at home; a son, Elijah Mount, at home; three brothers: Lamar T. Mount Jr., Warsaw; Ronnie E. Mount, Lakeland, Fla.; and L. Keith Mount, Bartow, Fla.; a sister, W. Faye Rogers, Bartow; his grandmother, Florence Jean Redfield, Wallingford, Conn.; an aunt, Wendy N. Whitney, Wallingford; an uncle, Julius F. Mount, Greenville, Ala.; his godmother, Donna M. Murowski, Wallingford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sturgis Church of the Nazarene, 70031 S. Lakeview Avenue, Sturgis, with the Rev. Ross Gerber of Grace Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis. Calling is from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes-Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E.
