Thanks to winning the 2011 girls cross country state championship on Oct. 29 in Terre Haute, Warsaw junior Ashley Erba has also been named the Class 5A Runner of the Year by the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches.
On top of being the runner of the year for Class 5A, Erba was also placed on the first team, while Warsaw sophomore Anna Bearss was named to the third team.
For the boys, Warsaw junior Jacob Poyner was named to the Class 5A honorable mention list and Whitko senior Trapper Mize was Class 3A-4A honorable mention.
