Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Don Enterline, the Kosciusko Community YMCA's executive director, will leave his position in Warsaw Sept. 1 to accept the Central Branch director/director of operations position with the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.
Enterline has been the executive director for the local YMCA since Apr. 18, 1990. During this time, the YMCA tripled its membership base, raised over $2 million for capital improvements, completed a major addition to the facility and experienced 175 percent growth in the past 10 years while serving the needs of the community.
"We're all very sorry to see Don leave our YMCA. During his tenure, the Y went from being a struggling operation to one that's very healthy and vibrant, making a positive impact in our community," said Dennis Cultice, president of the board of directors. "Our success over the years has been made possible by the outstanding effort of YMCA staff, volunteers, board members and the support of our community."
The Kosciusko Community YMCA board has launched a search for a new executive director. A selection committee has been formed and has begun the search for an executive director.
"We will miss Don not only as a leader in our community and for the Y, but as a quality individual. We are happy for his promotion as the No. 2 person with the Fort Wayne YMCA," Cultice said. "We also want our community to know that the selection committee and board will work very hard to facilitate a smooth transition to a new executive director and the great progress made by the YMCA will continue for many years to come."
The Kosciusko Community YMCA has 6,670 members and offers programs for gymnastics, youth sports, fitness, school age child care, summer camp, teen special events, water exercise, swim lessons, birthday parties, weightlifting, volleyball, basketball and swimming.
The YMCA is a member agency of the United Way. For more information, please call 269-9622.
