When Joe Biden said he couldn't bring gas prices down, he lied. He shut down the construction of the Keystone Pipeline which would have brought Canadian oil down to our refineries and shut down oil and gas exploration in Alaska and elsewhere to kowtow to the Green Energy supporters that think they can have green energy replace fossil fuels and nuclear energy in a few years even though we won't be ready for the transition by 2025. It's like replacing the carriage horses in Central Park in New York City with starving poodles. If solar cells and windmills were able to replace oil and gas, why is Germany building coal-fired power plants and needing oil and gas from Russia? If Joe Biden gets his way and replaces the federal fleets of vehicles with electric vehicles but we don't have enough electrical energy capacity, expect national black-outs by the middle of this decade.
If Joe had a normal ability to reason, he would swallow his pride and restart building the Keystone Pipeline, allow oil and gas exploration in ANWR, and beg American drilling teams to drill for oil and gas in this country to bring prices down and strengthen our economy. But the Progressives that are more like fascists and Marxists won't let Joe do the right thing for Americans. What we need is energy independence again.
We can have clean coal energy if plasma burners are used in the coal-fired power plants. The power plants would become more efficient. Carbon capture could reduce carbon dioxide release. The plasma burners would be so hot that water could be mixed with the coal and the hydrogen and oxygen would be split from the water and burned which means coal-fired power plants might become as clean as gas-powered plants.
We need more nuclear energy; not less. We also need geothermal energy. California shouldn't have black-outs if it increased geothermal energy production which it could easily do.
Since typical solar voltaic systems would require too much land for electrical generation, maybe solar steam units should be used. Sunlight would be intensified with fresnel lenses and the heat beams would produce steam to run turbo-generators. Flywheels could store the excess energy kinetically and generate electricity at night.
Plasma moles could go down deep to geothermal sources on both coasts and ocean water could be used to produce steam to run turbo-generators and also desalinated water for public use. With the Indian Point nuclear facility shut down in New York, twenty geothermal power plants could easily replace the lost generation capacity and cost less than Indian Point cost to build.
For wind power, I would use wind tunnels that have turbine blades placed in mountainous areas to take advantage of the high winds like those that occur at Mount Washington in New Hampshire. More electricity could be generated.
