Energy Crisis

I had a dream last night that I climbed a large mountain, and when I got to the top I heard a loud voice. It said, "Tom," and I said, "Yes?"

The voice said I have a plan for you to save the Midwest from the energy crisis.

I said, "That's great, shoot big one!" It said, "I want you to build a large building that will employ many people that will work three shifts around the clock receiving high wages." I said, "Doing what?" It said, "It will be the largest liposuction plant in the world." It said, "There is enough obesity in the heartland to make you free of dependence on foreign oil throughout the heartland." I said, "That's great news. Full employment and energy independence." It said, "You must also franchise it out all over America." I said, "Is that all?"

"No! You must encourage more and more people to buy big motorcycles that will speed 100 miles per hour-plus, but one condition must be met." "What's that?" I said. "Under no condition will any of the riders wear helmets and no laws must be passed to force the issue."

I said, "Oh, powerful one, what does all this mean?" It said in a very loud thunderous voice, "There are tens of thousands of poor souls lying in hospital beds across the country that need body parts. Since a lot of people who ride motorcycles don't seem to mind losing a few body parts, my other friends could sure use them."

"Is that all?" It said, "Yes." Then I asked, "Where was I going to find investors for such a mammoth project?" And it said, "How about China? Everyone I know is broke."

With that I woke up. Such a dream.
