WINONA LAKE – Fourteen properties in Winona Lake recently were transferred from Winona Arts Restoration and Preservation Inc. to Winona Restoration Partners LLC. The properties in question were part of a lawsuit filed in December 2011 by Biomet founder Dr. Dane Miller against former Village At Winona Executive Director Brent Wilcoxson. WRP is the nonprofit entity that established the Village at Winona. WARP is a nonprofit that, according to Internal Revenue Service documents, was created by Wilcoxson and had members of Wilcoxson’s family as its board of directors. In the lawsuit, Miller alleged that Wilcoxson improperly transferred 13 Winona Lake properties from WRP to WARP. As part of the lawsuit, both parties agreed not to discuss terms of any settlement reached.
