CHURUBUSCO – Emanuel “Snick” N. Geiger, 102, Churubusco, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Sept. 22, 2014, at his residence. He was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Rome City to Emanuel A. and Matilda McCoy Geiger. On April 17, 1929, in Churubusco he married Mabel Marie Cotton, who died Aug. 14, 1996. He spent his formative years in Churubusco. He was a longtime Smith Township farmer, he also drove a school bus, and he was an antique dealer. He attended Blue River Church of the Brethren and taught Sunday school at the United Brethren Church. Surviving are four sons: Gene (and Polly Bruch) Geiger, Columbia City; Paul Lee (and spouse Marlene) Geiger, Churubusco; Junior (and spouse Jenny) Geiger, Huntington; and DeLynn (and Lori Tilden) Geiger, Warsaw; two daughters, Bonnie (and spouse Glen) Nicodemus, Churubusco, and Darlene (and spouse Dale) Delanoy, Columbia City; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Geiger, Churubusco; 25 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Melvin Geiger; brothers, Forest, Orlando, Murray, and Tonny Geiger; four sisters: Mable Gordon, Ollie Lohrei, Velma Shivley and Dorothy Gause; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Blue River Church of the Brethren with Pastor Craig Alan Myers officiating. Burial is in Riverview Cemetery, Allen County.
