MILFORD - Elmer B. Ruch, 93, of Milford, died at 7:45 a.m. April 5, 2008, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.
He was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Milford, to Henry and Freda Lantz Ruch. On Nov. 14, 1936, he married Berniece Whisler, who died Aug. 24, 1994. In 1996, he married Fredonna Custer, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, he was an electrician for more than 50 years, working independently and for B&O Railroad and the Kosciusko County Highway Dept. He was a member of Milford Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star and a 32nd Degree member of Kosciusko Masonic Lodge. He was a charter member of Milford Lions Club and a lifetime member of Scottish Rite. He served several years on the Milford Fire Dept.
Also surviving are a daughter, Donna (and spouse Stephen) Varner, North Webster; a son, Max B. Ruch, Hernando, Miss.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Kathryn Longeor, Goshen, and Wilma Burkey, Bristol. He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Milford. Burial will be in Solomon Creek Cemetery.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a Masonic Service.
