Ellis Adams, 62, of Albion, died at 1:18 p.m. Jan. 20, 2009, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
He was born March 3, 1946, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Hargos and Carrie Whitaker Adams.
Living most of his life in Silver Lake, he was a factory worker and a member of Merriam Wesleyan Church. He loved to sing, joke, tell stories and make people laugh. He was also a good-hearted man and loved to help people.
Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Avery and Carrie McGuire, both of Albion; two sons, Ellis Kelly Adams, Pierceton, and Shane DeVon Adams, Churubusco; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four sisters, Helen (and spouse Bill) Reynolds, Plymouth; and Oma Jean (and spouse Tom) Hall, Opal (and spouse Henry Jr.) Arnett and Mary (and spouse Bill) Wadkins, all of Silver Lake; and a brother, Merl Adams, Burket. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and five brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Water of Life Church, Silver Lake, with Pastors Ralph Dotson and Henry Arnett Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
