AKRON - Ellen P. Way, 69, of 7283 Bensart Drive, Beaver Dame Lake, Claypool, died at 5:23 p.m. Feb. 28, 2007, at Wabash County Hospital. She had been a resident of Miller's Merry Manor East, Wabash, for several months.
She was born April 9, 1937, in McComb County, Mich., to Alton and Pauline Miller Smith. On May 8, 1955, in Wabash, she married LaVon O. Way, who survives at home.
She was a telephone operator and a homemaker. She was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church and the United Methodist women. She also loved crafts.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Yvonne) Biel, Twelve Mile; two sons, the Rev. Gregory (and wife Terri) Way, Waco, Texas, and Anthony (and wife Holly) Way, Wabash; a sister, Mrs. Tom (Norma) Lobdell, Arlington, Texas; a half-brother Lewis Hill, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two half-brothers, George and Leslie Hill.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Rob Seewald officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
