Ellen Marie Taylor, 64, of 9840 S. CR 700E, South Whitley, passed away at 8:30 a.m. July 12, 2011, in  her sister’s residence in South Whitley.

She was born May 29, 1947, in Kosciusko County, to Oren Elven and Mary Jean Griesinger Taylor  and was raised from age five by Cashel Myrth Heckman Taylor.

She radiated a life lived in faith to Christ Jesus her Savior and to the promise of Heaven. She committed her time to the growth and training of children and faithfully served as an elementary teacher for 40 years. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Grace College, Winona Lake, and taught in Mentone. She was known for her devotion to her entire family, especially to her two children and five grandchildren. Although a former resident of Warsaw, she resided in Wisconsin the last 26 years. She moved to South Whitley in April 2011.

She will be lovingly remembered by a son, Matthew (and spouse Tina) Ford, Mt. Horeb, Wis.; a daughter, Mary Ellen (and spouse Scott) Warren, Dubuque, Iowa;  five grandchildren, Aubrey and Emma Warren,  Dubuque, and Logan, Andie and Devin Ford, Mt. Horeb, Wis.; and three sisters: Donna (and spouse Loren) Maierle, Albion; Meta Sue (and spouse Jack) Engler, Warsaw, and Julia (and spouse Tom) Engle,  South Whitley; two brothers, Lynn (and spouse Kit) Taylor, Albuquerque, N.M., and Eric (and spouse Patti) Taylor, Warsaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Service will be noon Saturday a Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastors Jim Zaugg and Brent Sandy officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
