Ellen Bernice Plotner, 82, a lifetime resident of Warsaw, passed away Jan. 8, 2018, in her home at Courts of Colfax.
Ellen was born the youngest of eight children to Evert C. Marvel and his wife, Edna Rosburgh Marvel. She was born May 8, 1935, and raised on the family farm.
She was married to the late Earl Plotner and had worked at the laundromat in Warsaw.
A Christian woman, Ellen was formerly a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church and, for the last several years, has attended The Salvation Army in Warsaw. She enjoyed activities at the church and the Warsaw Senior Center and especially loved bingo. A social person, she truly enjoyed time spent with her friends, eating out and making trips to the beauty shop.
Ellen is survived by two sisters, Emogene (Vern) Garman, Elkhart, and Catherine Stillson, Fort Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl (2004); three brothers: Eugene Marvel (2015), Joe Marvel (2012) and Dean Marvel (1978); and two sisters, Gladys Smith (2017) and Marietta Smith (2004).
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 11, at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. A funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home’s chapel. Majors Bill and Trish Welch of The Salvation Army will officiate.
Burial will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
