WINONA LAKE - Elkhart Baptist overwhelmed the Lakeland Christian Academy boys soccer team Monday 9-1.

David Finley scored the Cougars lone goal.

LCA (1-7-1) hosts Lakewood Park today. The junior high match starts at 4 p.m. with the varsity starting at 5:15 p.m.

Warsaw Over

West Noble 15-2, 7-15, 15-10

Warsaw continues to play better of late, defeating West Noble in three sets on Monday.

Nancy Mason had nine kills and five digs for the Tigers and Sam Wideman added seven more kills. Alyssa Raphael had five kills and seven digs and Shanna Smith had two aces and 10 digs. Karla Bailey added 27 assists and two aces.

In junior varsity action, Warsaw defeated West Noble 15-1, 15-4. Nerecia Taylor had four kills and three blocks. Ryann Jones, Jessica Habeger, and Angie Bailey each added three kills in the win as the junior varsity team improved to 13-7.

Warsaw (12-12) will be at NorthWood on Thursday for a big Northern Lakes Conference match at 5 p.m.

Valley Over

Oak Hill 6-15, 15-9, 15-12

At Converse, the Vikings continue to add to their record winning streak with their seventh consecutive win on Monday over Oak Hill.

Brooke Fisher had 11 points, six aces and three digs. Brandi Fisher had nine points and three aces and Andria Parker had nine kills, seven blocks, three digs and was seven of seven serving. Brandy Manns had four kills and seven blocks and Jennifer Studebaker had three kills and eight blocks. Rhonda Doud added 23 assists. Carissa Parker and Tiffany Cunningham played well as the backcourt specialists.

Valley (13-10) will look to continue the winning streak on Wednesday when the Vikings host Fulton County Christian at 6 p.m. Fulton County Christian is 18-0 on the year.

NorthWood Over

Jimtown 15-11, 15-2

At Elkhart, NorthWood improved to 19-2 on the year with a win on Monday.

Jamie Gill had seven kills and five digs and Natalie Will added six more kills. Marla Yoder had seven assists and three digs in the win.

In junior varsity action, NorthWood defeated Jimtown 15-5, 15-2. Erin Newcomer had five kills and 11 assists and Shelly Stichter had seven kills in the win.

NorthWood (4-0 in the NLC) will host Warsaw on Thursday at 5 p.m.

• Cross Country

Manchester At Culver Invitational

At Culver, the Manchester boys team placed eighth out of 25 teams and the girls placed 18th out of 21 teams on Saturday.

Jeremy Stacy finished 20th out of 162 runners and Shay Knecht took 20th out of 205 runners.

Manchester will be at Northfield with Whitko and Wabash today at 4:30 p.m.

Warsaw At Snider Classic

At Fort Wayne, the Warsaw boys placed third and the girls placed tenth on Saturday.

The boys placed behind only DeKalb and Homestead in the final standings.

David Hoffert took fourth overall for the boys and Summer Boyd placed 17th for the girls.

The girls junior varsity took eighth as Christy Bassford finished 26th and the boys reserve team finished third as Jason Sibray took 12th place overall.

Warsaw will host Wawasee today at 5 p.m. in a battle for sole possession of second place in the conference.

At Plymouth, Adam Brown was 17-of-28 passing and threw two touchdowns as Wawasee won on Saturday.

Jeremy High caught one touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 65 yards.

Wawasee (2-4) will host Warsaw on Saturday.

Valley 34, Oak Hill 0

At Converse, Valley had 182 yards on the ground and 140 more in the air in a win on Monday.

Valley also threw four touchdowns and rushed for another. Dusty Cooper had 21 tackle points and Derek Domenico had 19 tackle points for the Vikings.

Valley (2-2) will play Rochester on Monday.

• JV Girls Soccer

Warsaw 1, Huntington North 0

Warsaw has won four of its last five games after winning on Monday.

During the streak, the Tigers opponents have averaged just three shots on goal per game. Huntington North had none.

Carlie Shaffer scored the only goal late in the first half, her seventh of the season, to put Warsaw ahead for good.

Warsaw (4-4-1) takes on Ft. Wayne Northrop today at 4:30 p.m. at the CCAC.
