NAPPANEE - Elizabeth Alene Murdock, 90, formerly of Nappanee, died at 2 a.m. Jan. 15, 2010, in Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony, Pa., where she resided, after failing health for two years.
She was born May 29, 1919, in Marion, to Benjamin Harrison and Florence Harter. On June 22, 1940, she married Jesse Orville Murdock, who died April 20, 1985.
She graduated from Marion High School in 1936, and attended Butler University, receiving music certification from Sherwood Conservancy of Music, Chicago. She taught piano and organ for many years in Nappanee. She was a former member of Christ Christian Church, Marion, and a member of Living Gospel Church, Nappanee.
Surviving are a sister, Agnes (and spouse R. Edwin) Green, Plano, Texas. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Living Gospel Church, with the Revs. Otto Beer and Mike Raasch officiating. Burial will be in Mississenewa #96 IOOF Cemetery, Marion.
