NORTH MANCHESTER - Eli J. Miller, 87, of Peru, died at 7:56 a.m. April 1, 2010, in his son's residence in rural Lagrange.

He was born in Sumner County, Kan., to John and Katie Troyer Miller. On Jan. 28, 1943, he married Edna A. Lehman, who died March 19, 1995.

Surviving are nine sons, including Harvey (and spouse Sally) Miller, North Manchester; six daughters, including Elma (and spouse Doug) Cook, Claypool; a brother; 94 grandchildren; 157 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, two sisters, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Silver Lake, with Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Calling is after 2 p.m. Saturday at Perry Miller residence, 2400 S. 300W, Lagrange, and from 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Mexico (Ind.) Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
