Eleven New Toll Road Troopers Receive Patrol CarsINDIANAPOLIS – Eleven Indiana State troopers – including four natives of Kosciusko County – assigned to the Toll Road Post received their patrol cars Tuesday after completing three months in the ISP Field Training Program.
The probationary troopers graduated from the 78th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in December. The entire class was issued their state police cars during a ceremony at the Indiana State Police Youth Education and Historical Center in Indianapolis Tuesday.
While at the academy, the recruits received 22 weeks of intense training. Their graduation was the culmination of more than 1,000 hours of training that included criminal law, emergency vehicle operations and traffic law. The academy training also covered criminal investigation, crash investigation, self-defense and other general law enforcement-related areas of instruction.
Troopers from Kosciusko County receiving their cars included:
Luis Alvarez
A native of Warsaw and a graduate of WCHS, Alvarez earned an associates degree in criminal justice from Ivy Tech. He will patrol St. Joseph, Elkhart and LaGrange counties.
Nikolos Anderson
A native of Syracuse and a graduate of Wawasee High School, Anderson earned in a degree in conservation law enforcement from Vincennes University. He will patrol in St. Joseph, Elkhart and LaGrange counties.
Jacob Bill
A native of Warsaw, after graduating Warsaw Community High School Bill joined the Air National Guard. He will patrol in LaGrange and Steuben counties.
Nathan Littlefield
A native of Syracuse, Littlefield graduated from Concord High School and earned a criminal justice degree from Southwestern College in Michigan. Littlefield will patrol Porter, LaPorte and St. Joseph counties.
