BOURBON – Eleanor R. Young, 95, Bourbon, passed away at 4:58 p.m. Dec. 28, 2014, in Wampler’s Senior Home Care, Bourbon. She was born June 23, 1919, in Nappanee, to Homer and Ella Lemlar Woodcock. On March 2, 1941, she married Marvin E. Young, who preceded her in death July 31, 2009. She was a lifelong resident of Bourbon. She was a member of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church and Bourbon Homemaker’s Club. She was a graduate of Bourbon High School, a homemaker, a farmer’s wife and worked at Ristance Products, Bremen, for 13 years. She also was involved in 4-H as a leader for over 20 years, teaching leather craft and glass etching. She will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are two sons, Dennis (and spouse Nina) Young and Rex Alan (and spouse Judy) Young, all of Bourbon; a daughter-in-law, Diane Young, Inman, S.C.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her son, Kent, who died Sept. 13, 2013; a granddaughter, Jennifer; and a sister, Doris Stackhouse. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with Pastor Stormy Scherer-Berry, of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
