Eleanor M. Holt, 77, of 56698 CR 27, Goshen, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 1:35 p.m. Feb. 15, 2010, in Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Feb. 26, 1932, in Goshen. On June 14, 1953, she married Murray A. Holt, who preceded her in death in 2006.
A lifetime resident of Warsaw, she was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She had been residing in Goshen for the past three years under the care and companionship of daughter Cindy. She was a member of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, Warsaw, and was active as president of the Kosciusko County Farmers Market Association for years. She enjoyed working with Murray in their fruit orchard and tending one of her many gardens.
Surviving are a son, Stephen Holt, Valparaiso; two daughters, Cindy Beachy, Goshen, and Amy (and spouse Brian) Pauley, Elkhart; and nine grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan; and a sister, Louise Coy.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church. There will be cremation.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
