NORTH WEBSTER – Eleanor Jane Weyand, 80, North Webster, passed away Sept. 19, 2015, at her home. She was born March 20, 1935, in Kokomo, to Arthur L. and Genevieve E. Elvin Miller. On Nov. 8, 1957, in Kokomo, she married Morris L. Weyand, who survives in North Webster. She graduated in 1953 from Kokomo High School, from Purdue University, West Lafayette, in 1957, and received her master’s degree from Ball State University, Muncie. She was a school teacher who retired from Northern Community Schools Tipton County and formerly taught at Kokomo Consolidated Schools for many years. She lived most of her life in the Kokomo area before moving permanently to the Leesburg/North Webster area more than 15 years ago. She went to the lakes for 40 years. She was a member of the PEO in North Webster, Tippecanoe Lake Country Club in Leesburg, Alpha Zeta Delta Sorority and served on the board of directors for eight years at Ivy Tech as the Region 5 trustee. She attended the United Methodist Church, North Webster, and formerly attended the Episcopal Church and Presbyterian Church in Kokomo. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed the lake. Also surviving are: a daughter, Jane Hizer, Indianapolis; a son, Morris “Marty” (and spouse Judy) Weyand, Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Amelia Hizer; two sisters, Marji (and spouse James) Winslow, St. Augustine, Fla., and Sarah (and spouse Warren) Flowers, McCormick, S.C. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Burial is in Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo, with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
