SYRACUSE - Eleanor J. Steele, 77, of 909 N. Lake St., Syracuse, died at 5:05 p.m. Dec. 15, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Branch County, Mich., to Wayne and Lucille Borrows. She married Cecil Steele, who died in 1994.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Trinda Wegener, Milford, and Patty Workman, Syracuse; three sons: Richard Gay, Wolcotville; Carl (and spouse Lynn) Thompson-Gay, Goshen; and Elmer Steele, Syracuse; a stepson, Richard (and spouse Linda) Steele, Indianapolis; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wayne (and spouse Doris) Borrows, Edwardsburg, Mich., and Robert (and spouse Mary Jane) Borrows, Elkhart. She was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
