Frank Waugh from WNDU Channel 16 in South Bend and Mike Sabones from the National Weather Service of Northern Indiana in North Webster recently paid a visit to Eisenhower Elementary School. They were there to see 10 sixth-grade students that created their own weathermen’s club called The Weather Trackers. The families of these students raised money to purchase weather-tracking equipment for their school in honor of their late friend, Austin McCleary, who lost his battle with cancer shortly before the start of the current school year. McCleary was a member of their club. Together they also created the McCleary’s Missions, dedicated to helping others in the community, continuing the legacy of their friend. The club and the visit to Eisenhower will be featured on the Channel 16 news.
