ELKHART- Eileen Love Rohrer, 93, Elkhart, passed away Feb. 5, 2015, at Woodland Manor. She was born May 27, 1921, in New Franklin, Mo., to Chester and Daisy Sentz Ryan. On March 8, 1941, in Howe, she married Richard E. “Dick” Rohrer, who preceded her in death Dec. 24, 2008. She graduated in 1939 from Elkhart High School, and in 1941 she graduated from Elkhart Beauty College. She was a member of the Creekside Church of the Brethren, enjoyed crocheting and was an active volunteer with the Head Start program. She received the Key to the City from former mayor Jim Perron. She was a beautician in Elkhart for over 50 years and was the owner of Rohrer’s Beauty Shop. She and Richard also were the owners of Rohrer’s Rentals in Elkhart. Surviving is a daughter, Diana (and spouse Richard) Kuhn, Bremen; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Diana Rohrer, Bristol; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Gordon, Elkhart. She also was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Rohrer. Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life service will be at the Creekside Church of the Brethren at a later date. Burial is next to her husband at Prairie Street Cemetery. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. ***** Memorials to the church.
