GOSHEN – On Monday night the Goshen school board approved promoting assistant coach Michael Wohlford to head boys basketball coach. He replaced Brian Bechtel, who resigned after 17 seasons at the helm. Wohlford has been teaching and coaching basketball at Goshen for the last eight years. “I think one of the factors in my favor was the relationships I have with the players and the knowledge of how the program works,” Wohlford told The Goshen News. “I am excited to lead the GHS boys program and honored to have this opportunity.” Goshen Athletic Director Larry Kissinger said “Michael has the ‘it’ factor that you don’t see until you get to know a person. We have seen Michael develop into such a great leader in this time here at Goshen.”
