Area firefighters spent all night fighting a fire in at the Hi-Grade Egg Producers in North Manchester.
The call came in at about 10:30 p.m. Monday and firefighters from 20 departments were fighting the blaze until 5 a.m. today, according to Chester Township Fire Department Assistant Chief Brady Airgood.
The fire could be seen from miles away. Airgood said five buildings and an estimated 1.5 million chickens were lost in the blaze.
There were no injuries, he said. The cause is undetermined and under investigation.
