Edwina B. Hayes, 76, of Hill Lake, Silver Lake, died at 8:57 a.m. Sept. 12, 2013, at her residence. She was born April 14, 1937, in Clarksburg, W. Va., to Rosco H. and Jeannette H. Rice Sines. On Nov. 1, 1958, in Marion, she married John M. Hayes, who died Dec. 11, 1997. She was a Silver Lake resident since 1986. She worked as an office manager for Wabash Wholesale, Logansport. She attended Silver Lake Wesleyan Church. Surviving are a daughter, Lora (and spouse Mark) Sill, Akron; a son, Scott (and spouse Debra) Hayes, Syracuse; two sisters, Toni Decker, Elkhart, and Rita (and spouse Adrian) Messer, Silver Lake; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rocky Hayes, June 19, 2011, and an infant grandson. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Silver Lake Wesleyan Church, 106 W. Walnut St., Silver Lake, with her brother-in-law, the Rev. Adrian Messer, officiating.
