Edward L. Starner, 51, of Warsaw, died at 10:45 a.m. March 11, 2011, in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw.
He was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, to William and Dian Hoodelmier Starner.
He worked at Zimmer Inc. for 23 years as a group leader in polymer molding. He was a member of Moose and Eagles lodges, Warsaw. After graduating Warsaw Community High School in 1978, he attended Indiana State University, Terre Haute, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was an avid fisherman and a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He was a follower of local high school sports and I.U. basketball.
Surviving are his parents, Steve and Dian Cartwright, Pfafftown, N.C.; a sister, Amy Jo (and spouse Tim "Gooner") Goon, Warsaw; and a nephew, Derek Goon, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his father, William Starner, who died May 8, 2010.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Chaplain Denny Bollenbacher officiating. Following the service they will go in procession to Oakwood Cemetery Chapel for a committal service. Burial will be private.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
