Edward Cook, 83, died at 11:35 p.m. June 21, 2011, in Mason Health & Rehab, Warsaw.
He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Newnan, Ga., to Melvin and Rosa D. Smith Cook.
Living most of his life in the Warsaw area, he was a cook in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a chef at Petro’s Restaurant, Warsaw, and Holiday Inn’s restaurant, Plymouth. He attended Church of God, Warsaw, and was a member of American Legion Post 49.
Surviving are a brother, Clarence (and spouse Louise) Cook, Warsaw; a sister, Janie Mae Cook, Newnan; two nephews, Jack (and spouse Marsha) Cook and Bill (and spouse Doris) Cook, all of Warsaw; a niece, Mary (and spouse Carl) Evans, South Bend; and several great-niece and -nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Mae Johnson, and a brother, Glenn Cook.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jerry Yoder of Church of God, Warsaw, and with military honors by members of Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.
