For the seventh year in a row, area educators, businesspeople and interested residents will meet Friday for "Education Summit VII: Community Challenge - Building Character in our Youth."
Scheduled for 7 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at 2517 Restaurant, the summit will take a look at the Education Compact, an agreement between businesses and schools to emphasize good grades and attendance; PathFinder, a program to help career-oriented students; school safety; and options for suspended students.
The meeting also will include group sessions that will discuss ways the community can help "build character" of at-risk youth through business-education collaboration.
Meeting facilitator will be Steve Grill, Grace College. The summit is sponsored by the education committee of the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Tippecanoe Valley, Triton, Warsaw, Wawasee and Whitko school corporations.
