ROCHESTER – Edna P. Carpenter, 104, died Jan. 1, 2017, at the home of her daughter. She was born Nov. 9, 1912, in Newton County, to Adolphus and Eva Hildreth Howell. In Morocco, on June 11, 1931, she married Chester Ray Carpenter. They enjoyed over 78 years of life's adventures. She is believed to be Fulton County's oldest living native American at 104 years, 1 month and 23 days. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Pastor Thad Stewart will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday.
