NORTH MANCHESTER - Edna May Lewis, 97, of Silver Lake, died at 6:40 a.m. October 21, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Clinton County, to Oather and Lucy Reavis Myers. On Jan. 17, 1932, in Rossville, she married James H. Lewis, who died Feb. 20, 1998.
She was a member of Eel River Old German Baptist Church. She grew up in Clinton County, and lived there until her marriage.
Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Ann Popejoy, Rocky Mount, Va., and Irene (and spouse Max) Metzger and Ruby (and spouse Leroy) Metzger, all of Silver Lake; a sister, Dorothy (and spouse Lewis) Barrick, Pyrmont; 10 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eel River Old German Baptist Church, Silver Lake, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be in the Old German Baptist Church Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester.
