NORTH MANCHESTER - Edna B. Maloy, 92, of North Manchester, died at 8:30 a.m. April 11, 2007, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
She was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Kosciusko County, to Edward and Ruth A. Metzger Ayres. On April 14, 1933, she married Harold Maloy, who died Dec. 21, 1987.
A homemaker, she was a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service, Sidney; an Avon representative; and a hostess at Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester. She was a 1932 Sidney High School graduate, a member of Ivy Chapter 69 Order of the Eastern Star, North Manchester, and a lifetime member of Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, and the Women's Fellowship of the church.
Surviving are two brothers, Arden (and wife Mary Elizabeth) Ayres, North Manchester, and Bill (and wife Claire) Ayres, Tipton; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Plummer, Atwood, and Mrs. Eldon (Isabelle) Smith, Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren: Kimra Reed, Sam Maloy and Sean Shanahan, all of Columbia City; Tana Moore, Jackson, Tenn.; and Vicki Gwinn, Columbus; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Maloy, who died in 1978; a daughter, Sandra Shanahan, who died in 2007; a grandchild, Dawn Esterline; and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, with the Rev. John Whitcraft and Pastor Dan Riccius officiating. Burial will be in Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
