NORTH MANCHESTER - Edith Mae Miller, 92, formerly of Claypool, died at 4 a.m. Dec. 9, 2008, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
She was born June 11, 1916, in Floyd County, Ky., to James and Julia Green Dixon. On Dec. 22, 1939, in Water Gap, Ky., she married Jack Miller, who died Jan. 18, 1972.
She was a homemaker and attended Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church, rural Silver Lake.
Surviving are a son, Gary Ray Miller, Claypool; three daughters, Julia Ann (and spouse Don) Bartley, Enterprise, Ala., and Linda Sue Blanton and Connie (and spouse Chris) Gates, all of Claypool; two brothers, Jimmie and Johnnie Dixon, both of Prestonsburg, Ky.; a sister, Sulie (and spouse Smith) Marsillett, Prestonsburg; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Elder Harold Vance officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is two hours prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
